Dart Board is now up

Well, it's a minor thing but at least it's something. I finally got my dart board up in the garage. It's in a temperately spot right now until I know where will be a good place will be to keep it permanently. Then I can get all the right measurements to get it up to regulation, but for now its nice to have. My trusty dart board has followed me around a bit and not had any use so I'm glad to see it back in action.

And yes, I am that accurate, why else would I snap that shot!

Carnival Editing....

Again no progress on the house this week. I've been deep into this carnival project. I'm hoping to get out as soon as possible, cause I gotta get back to working around the house. We are just about done with the stairs, think it only needs one last sand and paint then off comes the tape. We are starting to think more and more about keeping the wood on the side wall of the entry. Maybe we can make it work for us, it's starting to grow on me.

Anyway, I'm hoping to get back to work soon so I can go back to having this blog about the house, not my side projects! Here's a couple of pics from he shoot:

Carnival Delay.....

Related to the house, no. Keeping me from doing work on the house, yes. I figured that since it is keeping me from doing the work I want to around the house I'd make a post out of it.

It's been a few days but we have been busy on another project. The carnival came into town over the weekend and figure we'd take the opportunity to try and make a little movie out of it. I've been looking for something to shoot recently with my camera and this seemed like it could be a good for some pretty visuals and interesting people. The last 3 days or so I have been out shooting at night with some friends. I just got back from the last round of pick up shots and am in the middle of transferring over all the footage to see what I got. I feel that between Nate, Mark, and myself, that we all came back with some nice footage. Now comes the time to figure out how to make it into something. Hoping to have something put together within the month. Gotta make myself a deadline or else I won't finish it!

painting the stairs

Well, it was yet another long night with the stairs. I spent most my time last night just taping off all the stairs properly. Tonight I finished taping, patching some of the bigger holes, and then applying the first coat of primer. Taking a break now, but want to get one more coat on so I can hopefully finish up the painting for good tomorrow. Seems like it's taking me forever!

Good Morning!

Well, it was such a nice morning I felt like I had to try and capture some of it. This is a pic from outside our bedroom window, I get to wake up to this every morning. Unfortunately, the picture doesn't quit capture it all but as least it's something. It has been really nice waking up to these great views. Puts me in a much better mindset to start the day, especially cause I can't really sleep in anymore. When are we going to put up those blinds? Not sure if I really want them anymore.

Recap #2 "Ceiling Mud"

This is a stolen pic, but I had to post it for the people that don't have Facebook. This pic is basically showing off the worst job in the world, mudding the ceiling! It seems like we were doing this for at least 10 hours and by the end I could hardly lift my arm above shoulder level. We had no clue what the hell we were doing, but you wouldn't know it when you saw the finished product. We did about as good of a job as I could of asked for. Thanks to Nate for hanging in there on the worst day to have offered help, he pulled the short straw that day. I never want to do that again.

Another day, more jobs complete

Today was an eventful day. We set out to take care of a lot of things and almost got to them all. First thing for Amanda was to start prepping for some serious painting. She took care of the inside of our front door and trim. It was originally a really dark ugly wood color. I'll post some before and afters once everything is cleaned up and dry. After that she started on priming and painting the stairs as well. Looking forward to having those done cause they look pretty ghetto right now and it's the first thing you see when you walk in either door. It's going to feel good to have most of the entryway done.

While Amanda was painting I took care of the lawn stuff, made a Home Depot run, hung a rack for her to dry clothes on, fixed the screen door rollers, and silenced a squeaky door hinge. Who would have thought that chores around the house could be so fun.

Will try to post more as we finish up this week. But in the mean time, here's Amanda at work.
