Another day, more jobs complete

Today was an eventful day. We set out to take care of a lot of things and almost got to them all. First thing for Amanda was to start prepping for some serious painting. She took care of the inside of our front door and trim. It was originally a really dark ugly wood color. I'll post some before and afters once everything is cleaned up and dry. After that she started on priming and painting the stairs as well. Looking forward to having those done cause they look pretty ghetto right now and it's the first thing you see when you walk in either door. It's going to feel good to have most of the entryway done.

While Amanda was painting I took care of the lawn stuff, made a Home Depot run, hung a rack for her to dry clothes on, fixed the screen door rollers, and silenced a squeaky door hinge. Who would have thought that chores around the house could be so fun.

Will try to post more as we finish up this week. But in the mean time, here's Amanda at work.

My first mower

Got my handy dandy lawn mower all put together and set out to tackle the overgrown lawn. Figured I'd try and old school mower to see how she handles.

Action Shot!

Goober at the helm:

It took me 2 separate passes to get it all chopped down to size. It was REALLY long! Also, found that I now need to pick up a weed eater/edger of some sort to take care of those tricky hard to reach areas. After I was all done with the trim, I tried my hand at fertilizing. Not sure if I did it right so we'll see what happens.

Over all, it was fun and a now my grass can grow back healthy.

Welcome to the Jungle!

The lawn has gotten so long since we took over the house. Unfortunately we couldn't do anything about it because we didn't have a lawn mower. Last night, that all changed. Time to break out the mower and go to town!
